My Master Cleanse- (detox journey)

A few days ago I started learning about all the benefits of doing a cleanse. Since going vegan I feel like I am carrying some toxins in my body and can sense it much more, now that I am more aware of my health and diet.

So today Is my first log in on my blog so that I can document my journey of this Master Cleanse.

The cleanse I decided to do was the Lemon Detox Master Cleanse! I am doing this detox for 10 full days.

What is the Lemon Detox Master Cleanse?

This cleanse is where you strictly consume water that contains:

  • Lemon
  • Grade B Maple Syrup
  • Cayenne Pepper

For a duration of time. Also, everyday during the detox you are to consume water with salt to start your day. This helps your system start going and rev up the engine!

The reason I chose to do 10 days is because in my research it is said that 10 days gives enough time for you to purely clean out your system.

What starts happening during the cleanse?

During the cleanse you will start to detox all impurities in your body. The impurities will come out in many ways. Through your tongue where a white film will form, possibly through your pores, so you will notice some acne or bumps, & also through your colon. Your bowl color will have a black color to it as it starts cleaning out all the build up that has been stuck in your colon for several years.

Those are some of the visible symptom.

Some other symptoms that will start happening is that you will at first start to notice mood swings, brain fog, & it is possible that you may even get sick during the detox process. But rest assure, its actually your body healing itself.

Prior to my 3 days I am going to do 3 days of pure juicing so I can ease into the 10 days. After the 10 days I will go ahead and finish off with easing into foods by having juices & broths for another 3 days.

I am doing this because it is said that in order to have a successful cleanse that it is best not to go full force but to ease into things.

The last 3 days of juicing & broth is actually really crucial because your stomach needs to ease back into digesting foods. So it would shock & hurt your system if you just started consuming large chucks of food after not eating for 13 days. So the last the 3 days are important to go easy on your stomach.

That makes the entire journey of the cleanse to be 16 days.

I have finished all three days of my pre- cleanse!

Have to admit that I did find myself nibbling at things when times got hard with the hunger but I feel like for the most part I did a good job at sticking with it and not falling into temptation.

I purchased the pre cleanse by Suja carried by Whole Foods. It was an entire 3 day set of juices.

It consist of 6 drinks : Glow , Fuel, Purify, Fiji, Super-Green, & Dessert. 

I made sure to space the drinks out through the day.

 

How I feel

Nothing drastic has changed. My energy levels are the same through the early day & as I get closer to bed time I feel my energy start to die down.

Even through my juicing I kept up with my daily workouts, feeling fine. Going to work has been good as well. I haven’t found myself to be irritated at all.

Tomorrow is when I plan to start day one of the Master Cleanse!

Results I am looking for

My main goal through doing this master cleanse is to find myself having a better skin complexion & be able to remove all my unwanted toxins in my body.

I also hope to have my taste buds shift from craving highly processed or refined foods to wanting more healthy foods.

Lastly I am hoping to feel more motivated and in control of every aspect of my life through this!

What I am not looking for

The one main thing I am not looking for is to lose weight. I really enjoy where my body is at & all the mass I have built. I guess we shall see how this goes!
