First, I would like to thank everyone who has supported me through this journey and for those who have been interested in the whole process.
The last day of my master cleanse has finally came and I have learned so much!
Ill start by talking about my physical body
Skin:
I still have many breakouts however I know it has a lot to do with my hormonal imbalance as well as just the toxins that still do remain in my body.
Body:
I have lost a total of 4 lbs which I am not happy about because I have lost the thickness of my thighs and the plumpness of my booty. However, I know that over sometime I can rebuild myself.
My weight was 117 when I started and I am down to 113. It is impossible not to loose weight on this program, so for all of you who are worried about loosing weight I recommend to take it day by day and to drink more than enough of the lemon water.
Energy:
My energy feels great. I am very excited and looking forward to my first meals and how food will taste to me after so long of going without it.
The mental part:
This detox has made me appreciate food in a new way and have a new found perspective.
Food is always around us in the western culture. With this being said, its hard for some people to understand the meaning of true starvation. There are two ways to look at starvation.
There is starving because you do not have the resources to feed yourself. This type of starvation leads people to depression, anger, and etc.
Then there is starving through detox, starving through detox is definitely a mental thing. When you yourself are doing it knowingly, for a cause, you are able to step back and realize that you can take this as far as your mental capability goes.
The main thing that came out of this detox is the appreciation towards food. I find myself being grateful and to really take advantage of the fact that their is so many options all around me.
Knowing that food is always abundant in the states makes me have a deeper appreciation for every bite that I take and for every grain , fruit, and plant that God has put on this earth to feed our body with nutrition.
Once you can understand that deep meaning of appreciation you have a different attitude. I started to think of portions. In our western culture our portions are out of control. Realizing this I thought, instead of digging in and throwing away what I don’t finish ( which is what I did when I eat out), I decided that I could place half my meal in a container to take out before diving in. This allows me to reduce my waste and if after I finish my portion in front of me and still feel hungry, then I can simply have more.
Not only are you saving money but it is my way of appreciating the food itself by realizing its worth.
This fast has made me a much more spiritual person. When I previously would give thanks for my food it was simply saying thank you without any true feelings of gratification.
Now since my detox journey, I am able to understand the true meaning and affection of truly appreciating our food. When I give thanks I know exactly why and its coming from the core of me.
IN CONCLUSION:
My first detox was a great success in my eyes and even though I may still have had more to go I think the minimum 10 days with the 3 days of a pre+post cleanse was enough. It gave me insight to understand it and hope to find myself doing it periodically in my life.
