How to Stop Negative Patterns- Shifting Consciousness

A small change contributes to a shift in your perspectives and experience in a large way.

I am sharing from my own experience & by no means take away anything from your own hardships, devastation, or situations. I have not walked a mile in your shoes nor may I have had a chance to meet you. This is not an attack. If you feel like this is genuinely helpful and can inspire you then do continue.

Our planet can be filled with doubt, fear and hurt.

It seems as though that this can be the only thing we witness. From wars that reach across this globe to the scarcity of basic human needs that many countries face.

I myself forget to stop and think how lucky I am or take a moment to see wow there is this beautiful tree that stands in front of me.

So I have to consciously stop and think :

“As I stand in front of this amazing tree, it gives me air, life, and energy. I get to have the freedom to appreciate this tree. My environment has opened up that opportunity for me to think presently. Let me put this into perspective now.”

Someone in a suppressed country right at this exact moment down to this exact minute, even second is suffering from brutality.

Now stop and realize that I am only being conscious of one individual suffering from this oppression and now expand that thought to a couple, or a group of people. Now go even further realizing that there are people in an entire country that are suffering at this exact given moment and seconds.

How can this be my world?

I struggled with this thought throughout my spiritual journey, however I am coming from complete love and honesty that I know this one thing to be true.

When you change your thoughts it affects everything.

 

Yes, there is pain and suffering but the change to help break that constant state all starts with your mind.

It is a thought and an idea of darkness that harnesses and paints the path for those things to exist. So if that same mind of thinking can create such sadness then what if we start to create a different practice and way of thinking?

Coming from a practice of over 10 years and still training. I continue to learn the power of positive thinking and that I am only at the surface of enjoying the power of my mind.

Positive thinking is a practice.

You get better at it when you turn on that part of your mind and work it out. How I started is by turning every negative thought I would get into a positive.

Whenever I had a negative thought I would stop & first always apologize,” I am so sorry Universe for that thought,” I would then take back the thought and send it off in a positive note blessing it with love.

Example

Say that I would see an outfit that was not to my liking, In my head my initial thoughts would be

“Ew, what are they thinking, that looks so horrible”

It would be worse if I actually had someone around and verbalized it with them because now I have created a bigger pool of negative energy.

So right as that happened either to myself in my mind or if I was with a friend, I would catch myself & apologize.

Next thing I would do is change that thought and re-state it,

“That’s an  interesting choice for someone to wear, it’s really awesome that we are all different and unique in our own ways.”

That is how I would correct my thought. No matter how childish or uncomfortable that sounds you have to re-state it.

When with a friend I pull back and say thing like, “that wasn’t nice of me. Good for them being true to themselves.”

I did not care what my friends thought when I would do it. Some would respond, “it’s okay to hate on it” & some realized what I was doing and responded, “Yeah you’re right.”

The most important thing about this is that you always apologize and restate that thought. It is key. This starts to impact those around you as well because they would see how unnecessary it was to negatively talk about something.

One important thing thought is that if you are with a friend and they start speaking negatively never criticize them to apologize. They are allowed to speak and feel how they choose. This is simply for you because you want to change your state of vibration and energy.

So what did this start to do for me?

When I kept re-stating every negative saying or thought no matter how small the comment was it started changing my way of thinking.

It re corrected the abusiveness that my words and thoughts were manifesting which was adding to the creation of this world.

That training over many years has changed my perspective on life.It has been a inspiration for others and myself. 

those small negative thoughts you have day in and day out manifest into bigger creations and surroundings.

How do I stay positive constantly, even through the hardest times?

I stay present. I take  moments to appreciate the tree, the air I am breathing, the legs that I have to stand on. I get that present.

What about when you don’t like someone?

Mantras help. Some see it as an excuse for others behaviors but if you can correct your way of thinking of that person and come from a place of love, you may be able to connect in a different way with that person and be able to impact their own lives. You must see yourself within that person or situation.

Find the light in every single situation. Seek it, search for it, FIND IT.

Yes, you will not “vibe” with the entire world. That is completely okay.

For those individuals that I cross paths with & do not vibe with I always think, “they’re in my path for a reason, they will teach me how to overcome my thoughts and negative feelings.”

To keep myself positive I repeat to myself, “you know what, we are different and that’s okay. I honor them for who they are so thank you for being you.”

Not only did that set a positive note in the world. This way of thinking allowed acceptance to flow.

Conscious awareness and being connected with the present moment is a practice that takes effort and thought.

Doing this throughout the years has changed my mind in a way that is very freeing and now its time to give others this tool.

It has helped with self-love. Not coming from a place of greed or jealousy. It has dramatically changed a lot of my negative behaviors and not only that it has allowed me to accept my reality for what it is.

My thoughts manifest less of the darkness & more of the light. Light for others in times of need and light for others to see within themselves.

A small change can change a lot.

So start small, start with yourself :

  • Auto correct your negative thought with positive ones no matter how weird it is.
  • Re-state every negative thing you may say or thing starting with a apology first.
  • Come from a place of want for change, a want for peace, a want for a place of compassion and a want for brutality to stop in this world.
