Things to Remember when beginning your Journey of Change.

I don’t know what your relationship to change is but for me change has been my teacher, my biggest enemy and greatest experiences.

Change is ever shifting and I found change to be very challenging to experience when you have a mind that wants to hold onto everything.

For so long I wanted life to remain the same.

The body finds safety in the predictable and this is one reason the ego attaches so dearly to the things of the past. This was not serving me in any way in my 20’s. Instead holding onto the past was causing me to suffer with depression.

I knew something had to give so I just started doing things here and there that helped me focus my mind on the good and to start shifting my way of thinking. This shifting allowed me to ask deeper questions. Then on Dec. 7th 2018 I experienced the biggest transformation of life where I chose to show up differently by choosing a different reaction to life & that simple change changed the trajectory of my life completely.

Ultimately, I became a whole new person from who I was for so long. The past burdens had all been released and I felt like I was given a new slate to life.

In this blog I want to open up the conversation of understanding what makes change so difficult?

When we begin the journey to change some aspect of our ourselves, it requires a level of belief in ourselves.

If we are in agreement that beliefs are ever changing from one set of ideas to another, then we would also agree that beliefs are not indefinite truths. Beliefs are simple projection of thoughts & ideas.

So if change requires a level of belief within ourselves and yet beliefs can change that would mean our belief in ourself can change.

It’s the shifting of beliefs that can make change almost impossible to many. It makes it even more challenging when you feel like the entire world is projecting back onto you how impossible something is.

When you start your journey of change you will have everything feeling like it is working against you and the kitchen sink will be thrown your way.So this blog is the beginning of an internal unpacking to creating true change in our lives.

When you set out to create something in your life you will be meet the parts of yourself that is scared and you will have the old thoughts of how something may not be possible for you show up.

When this happens I encourage you to continue showing up in the midst of the fear and to continue working on your presence by detaching yourself from that belief.

Remember a belief doesn’t have to be real and is only real when you assign meaning to it. So detach from the belief by simply choosing not to believe in its validity.

Re-enforce why you are starting this journey of change in the first place and stick with your why.

This why will keep the path clear and intentional for you allowing you to emboss the new belief system that will be the one aiding you on your journey of change.

It will take commitment & it will take consistency of you showing up for yourself.

One big tip I can give you – is to start your day and end your night with a meditation to keep the clutter thoughts of the mind at bay.

I personally love Dr. Joes meditation “The Generous Present Moment!”

I hope to continue this conversation around change with you as I myself overcome old parts of me that I am currently under going change to.
